Randomness

While I spent the month of June in the hospital I missed out on a couple of important events.

First, Anthony turned 13. He, along with 2 of his friends and some of the adult males in the family had a good time. Erika watched the fun and took pictures then joined in for the rest of the day.
They started out at MB2 which is an indoor electric go-cart track. After having fun racing there they headed out for pizza. Next was bowling and then to end the day was the movie "Night at the Museum 2". Anthony said it was a great day!

Second, Launa graduated from preschool.

Now that I'm on the mend it's finally starting to feel like summer. I can't get into the water yet but had fun watching Anthony & Launa.
Time spent in the front yard with Launa's new water slide.
The next day was spent in the backyard in the pool.
Launa was a little nervous going into the deeper end but she trusts her brother.

Last Day of Summer Vacation!

School started today and yesterday was the last day for some summer fun! Anthony called to ask if his friends could come with him to swim in the pool. Of course! His friends have been swimming in our pool all summer.
The 4 boys play on the Ojai Eagles football team. They played football in the pool with a pool football and were having a blast. The water was so wavy and there wasn't any place in the pool not to get knocked around.
The girls and I finally decided to get out. That's okay, they got to have ice-cream. Then the 3 of us watched the movie Flicka.
It was a fun way for everyone to end the summer!

Summer Time!

Kourtnie has been in horse camp this past week while Launa has been taking swimming lessons. Anthony was in horse camp too but in Simi Valley with his dad so I didn't get any pictures.
Kourtnie loves the horses and hasn't even minded the over 100 degree weather in Ojai as long as she got to hang out with her new favorite animals. I tried to get to the camp in time to get pictures of her riding but they did it earlier. I think Kourtnie believes she's a new 'horse whisperer'. She would tell me every day about the special connection she had with different horses and how she and the horse could understand each other. I'm really happy she's having so much fun.
Launa took to swimming better than we thought she would. Last summer she wouldn't get off of the step in our pool. On Mother's Day this year she ventured out a little farther but still didn't want to try anything. The first day of swimming she went right in with the teacher and every day did exactly what the teacher told her to do. She even jumped in to the teacher. It was great!
